After a while I stopped seeking solace in others and placed my ridiculous notions of love and friendship aside. Instead of finding satisfaction in people, I found it in books and music which were far more comforting and inspiring than any human I had known. Where people had failed to support and encourage me many times, books, music, art and film had been substitute enough to restore my life when it had crumbled to pieces.
